ORLANDO, Fla. (UCF Athletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team opens the fall season this Friday at the Bedford Cup, hosted by Florida at the Ring Tennis Complex.

Unlike last fall when the whole team traveled, three Knights will head to Gainesville to participate in several events throughout the weekend.

Seniors Mario Samson and Jorge Blasco will compete against 11 Florida schools, including USF, FSU, Miami and Stetson.

The tourney will allow these seniors to get back on the court for a competitive match for the first time since the Conference USA Championship in late April.

"We are looking to build on our offseason where we took major strides making adjustments and getting better," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "Our goal this fall is to out-work everybody and prepare for the upcoming spring season."

The Knights will have three more tournaments in the fall all around the state of Florida, with the conclusion in Lake Buena Vista Nov. 2-4.
