ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 12 UCF women's soccer team got its 2012 season underway on Saturday night with a 2-0 loss to No. 21 Florida in exhibition play.

After two lightning delays, the match featured one 45-minute period followed by two 30-minute sessions. Florida got on the board first in the 35th minute thanks to Havana Solaun's attack off an assist from Holly King.

Subbing in for starting keeper Lianne Maldonado, Connie Organ came up with several saves in the first 30-minute period but couldn't get in front of Erika Tymrak's goal, fed by Tessa Andujar, in the 56th minute.

UCF head coach Amanda Cromwell called upon 25 Knights to log playing time throughout the night.

UCF will officially start the season Aug. 17 at USF at 7:30 p.m.
