ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF football fans hoping to take part in the fourth-annual Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon presented by Bright House Networks should make their reservations soon. Tables are going fast for this year's event, which will take place Thursday, Aug. 16, at the UCF Arena. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with the luncheon running from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Fans will be treated to food, fun and entertainment by the UCF Marching Knights, Knightro and the spirit program at this exciting gameday experience. Guests will have the chance to meet the 2012 UCF football team, and obtain exclusive insight into the upcoming season from head coach George O'Leary.
This year's festivities will include a can't-miss silent auction highlighted by exclusive experiences and UCF memorabilia.
The Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon guest speaker for 2012 will be Tim Green, a nationally-renowned author and former NFL standout. He has written several children's books, while making more than 400 appearances at schools across the country. Green played under coach O'Leary at Syracuse University, and was eventually selected in the first round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons before retiring in 1994. His son, Troy, signed with the Knights in February and will be a freshman quarterback for the Black and Gold this fall.
Individual fans looking to purchase a seat at this year's luncheon may do so for only $60. Corporate tables for 10 people also are available for $600, and up to two football players or coaches will be seated at these tables.
Complimentary parking on Aug. 16 will be available in Garage D near the UCF Arena.
