ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Dallas Aminzadeh, a talented defender from Silver Spring, Md., has joined UCF's men's soccer recruiting class. Aminzadeh, who was listed among the top prep players in the country in 2010, will have three years of eligibility remaining.

After graduating from Northwood High School, he spent his freshman year at Southern Connecticut State. He appeared in 11 games for the Owls in 2011 and logged a goal. As a senior, Aminzadeh was ranked as the No. 115 recruit nationally by College Soccer News.

"Dallas is a very strong defender," UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "He was highly recruited out of high school. We are fortunate that he has joined our backline, which has been very strong the past few years. We feel like Dallas can come in and provide depth and compete for a starting position."

Aminzadeh, who played for the D.C. United Academy, joins an impressive recruiting class for the Knights. The group consists of transfers Deshorn Brown (University of Mobile), Anton Sealey (North Carolina), Omar Vallejo (Ohio State) and Gabriel Zapponi (Northeastern Oklahoma A&M), and incoming freshmen Zach Biggs (Weston, Fla.), Mason Miller (Dallas, Texas), Jeff Michaud (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Michael Russo (McLean, Va.) and Romario Williams (Portmore, Jamaica).

The group joins a program that has enjoyed great success under Cunningham. The Knights have advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship in each of the last two years. In 2011, UCF spent the entire year in the national rankings, moving to as high as No. 6.
