ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Senior Chelsey Lauzon has earned Second Team All-America distinction, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced Tuesday. The 2012 Pocock Awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women's collegiate rowing.
Lauzon is the second rower in UCF history to earn All-American status. Krystina Sarff earned three All-America honors with the team from 2007-11.
The recognition is just the latest in a decorated career for the Rockford, Mich., native. Lauzon picked up her fourth-consecutive CRCA All-South Region First Team distinction in May and was also recognized by the organization as a National Scholar Athlete.
At this year's Conference USA Championships, she was named to the All-Conference Team for the third-straight year.
The four-year member of the varsity-eight boat will graduate in December with a degree in elementary education and a minor in coaching.
