ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Daiquan Walker, who is ranked among the top guards in the country, has signed a grant-in-aid to join the UCF men's basketball program, head coach Donnie Jones announced Tuesday. The Philadelphia native is rated as the No. 33 guard nationally by ESPNU.

As a senior, Walker helped lead Constitution High School to the Pennsylvania Class A title. The 6-foot-2 Walker averaged 18.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game. In the state championship game win over Lincoln Park, he totaled 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and six steals.

Walker joins a UCF recruiting class that includes guard Matt Williams and post players Staphon Blair and Dylan Karell.

"We are excited to bring Daiquan aboard," Jones said. "He had a great high school career and played for a great program, helping Constitution win a state title. We are very excited about Daiquan's ability to thrive in our up-tempo style of play. He brings great diversity as a combo guard, and we are looking forward to him contributing to our success as a program."

Following his senior season, Walker was named to the Associated Press All-State Class A First Team. He also garnered Philadelphia Daily News All-City Team honors and a spot on the Philadelphia Public League First Team.

Walker joins a UCF program that enjoyed great success in 2011-12. The Knights won 22 contests, participated in the postseason NIT for the first time and recorded memorable wins over No. 4 UConn and Memphis.
