ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's tennis head coach Stephanie Nickitas announced Ann-Sophie Porry has signed to compete for the Knights beginning this fall. Porry just finished her second season at the State College of Florida in Bradenton.

"We are very excited to have Sophie join our team this fall," Nickitas said. "She is an aggressive baseline player and has some very good doubles skills. She will be able to contribute in both lineups right away."

In May, the SCF Manatees finished as the runner-up in the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship. On the final day of the tournament, Porry was victorious in the No. 4 singles match by defeating the top seed, and also pulled out a win in doubles to cap off a highly successful trip. Earlier in the year, SCF won the Florida College Systems Activities Association State title in just its second year of existence.

Porry was champion of Martinique and French Caribbean until the age of 11 before living in France for seven years. She was a semifinalist of Paris' championship and was a state champion in singles as well as a national champion in singles and doubles. She graduated from Lycee Victor Schoelcher High School in Martinique.

Porry is the daughter of Alain and Olivette, and she has two sisters, Laurence and Melissa. Laurence also played for the State College of Florida and will be a junior at Florida State in the fall.
