ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - It has been a busy two days for the Academic Services for Student-Athletes as it ushered in its largest class of Summer B enrollees in program history. Nearly 60 student-athletes will begin their UCF careers Monday when the six-week class period begins.
Kimya Massey, Director of the ASSA, and his staff spent two days meeting collectively and one-on-one with student-athletes from every sport except men's tennis. The large contingent continued its orientation Friday morning meeting as a group and listening to presentations from staff members on how to take advantage of all that the ASSA provides.
After lunch, the group headed over to the Business Administration building to register for two classes during the Summer B term as well as finalizing fall schedules.
With the record amount of student-athletes enrolled during the summer, they will have a jumpstart on helping UCF improve its APR (Academic Progress Rate). On June 20, the NCAA announced that eight of UCF's 16 teams recorded perfect single-year APR scores of 1,000 while 14 of UCF's programs either improved on their score from the previous report or tallied consecutive perfect marks.
