ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A pair of Knights will represent UCF this weekend at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Both Christal Peterson and Precious Ogunleye will be in action at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington, Ind.
The event starts Friday and Peterson will compete in the 100 meters and Ogunleye will compete in the shot put and discus.
Both Knights recently completed their freshman seasons. Ogunleye earned All-Conference USA Third Team honors at the league outdoor championship in May after taking third place in the shot with a toss of 14.72m/48-03.50.
The USA Junior Championships feature the nation's best high school standouts and the most promising college freshmen. The meet will serve as a qualifier for the IAAF World Junior Championships, which will be held in July in Barcelona, Spain.
