ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Jorge Blasco of the UCF men's tennis team has earned a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team, the league office announced Thursday. The junior played in all 22 matches this spring for the Knights and recorded 11 victories at the No. 1 singles spot.

A native of Spain, Blasco registered victories over two nationally ranked opponents in the spring. He opened the year by defeating No. 115 Danny Kreyman of 41st-ranked Wake Forest, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5. At the C-USA Championship, Blasco topped No. 103 Japie De Klerk of 23rd-ranked Tulsa (6-1, 4-6, 6-4).

"This is a well-deserved honor for Jorge," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "Jorge excelled all spring at the No. 1 singles spot and competed each and every match."

During the season, Blasco topped four opponents from nationally ranked teams. Blasco, who was in his first campaign competing for the Knights, went 3-2 against C-USA opponents.
