ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Former UCF men's soccer standout Kevan George made his first career MLS start Saturday, helping the Columbus Crew record a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire. The midfielder, who finished his time with the Knights in 2011, went the full 90 minutes in the win.
George, who was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, made his professional debut last Wednesday in a 2-0 victory at Seattle. In a reserve role, he played 46 minutes against the Sounders.
George is one of three former Knights currently playing in the MLS. Warren Creavalle is a member of the Houston Dynamo after being tabbed with the 37th overall pick in the 2012 SuperDraft. Sean Johnson is Chicago's starting goalkeeper. He has started nine contests this season.
