ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Often, the thought of a college career approaching its end elicits sadness and regret for student-athletes. For Josh Crittle, who is already looking ahead to his final season with the Knights, the start of his senior campaign has only brought motivation.

"I am just trying to prepare for my senior season," the center said. "I am going to try to come in with a different focus. I am going to play my game and take my work ethic to a different level this summer. We really need to focus so we can make some real noise next year."

In his first campaign competing with the Knights after transferring from Oregon, Crittle made 25 starts in 2011-12 and averaged 4.7 points. The Chicago native, who has dropped around 50 pounds since arriving at UCF in 2010, is using this summer to get into better shape.

Crittle wants to lose another 10-15 pounds prior to the start of the upcoming season. A skilled post player, he is also working to become more of a presence in the post for the Knights.

Expect the energetic Crittle to take on more of a leadership role with the team. His motivation for his senior campaign is even extending off the court.

"I am ready. I am ready to step and contribute," Crittle said. "I want to be a huge part of this team and help us win."
