NEW ORLEANS, La. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 18 UCF track and field team began its quest for its third-straight outdoor title Friday at the opening day of the Conference USA Championships at Tad Gormley Stadium.
The Knights competed in just one event in the first day as Satrina Oliveira, Precious Ogunleye and Destinee Romainrepresented the Black and Gold in the hammer throw.
Oliveira emerged as UCF's top finisher in the event in 11th place with a mark of 44.52m/146-01. Ogunleye recorded a toss of 44.01m/144-05 for 13th place and Romain rounded out the trio with a throw of 40.60m/133-02.
The Knights resume the Championships on Saturday with the 1500 meters at 6:15 p.m. and will go on to compete in 10 events throughout the evening. Live results are available.
