ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Coming off its second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the UCF men's soccer program announced Friday Zach Biggs will be joining the Knights for the 2012 season. Biggs hails from Weston, Fla., and served as the starting goalkeeper for Cypress Bay High School which claimed the 2011-12 Class 5A state title and the ESPN Powerade National Championship.

Biggs helped lead Cypress Bay to back-to-back shutouts in the 2012 state tournament en route to the state crown and a 23-0-2 record. The school became only the fourth school to defend its large-school state title in Florida soccer history.

Born in Richmond, Va., Biggs was selected to the Miami Herald All-Broward County First Team for the second year in a row, as well as the Sun-Sentinel All-Broward County Second Team. He totaled 10 shutouts on the year. During Cypress Bay's run to the Class 6A state title in 2011, Biggs collected nine shutouts. And as a sophomore, he received honorable mention status while taking the school to the Class 6A Regional Finals.

Biggs was a member of the National Honor Society at Cypress Bay, and competed for the U-16 West Pines United club team where he was the captain for a squad that was a final four contender in the State Cup.
