ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team wraps up its 2012 home slate this weekend as it is set to host Houston in a three-game Conference USA series at the UCF Softball Complex. The Knights and the Cougars will face-off in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, before concluding the series with Senior Day at 12 p.m. Sunday.

The Knights (35-13, 12-6 Conference USA) and Cougars (29-18, 12-6) will be meeting for the 19th time on Friday. Houston leads the all-time series 12-6, but the Knights swept the series in 2010 and defeated the Cougars in the 2008 C-USA championship game.

Following the series finale Sunday afternoon, head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie and the Knights will honor the squad's seven seniors, Natalie Land, Vanessa Perez, Ali Schmidt, Tawny Swan, Lindsay Selmer and manager Keyana Terry, in a short ceremony to recognize their dedication and contributions to the UCF softball program.

The Black and Gold are coming off an 8-1 victory over Stetson on Wednesday. This weekend series is crucial for the Knights as they are currently tied with Houston in the conference standings. The winner of this series will earn a higher seed in the conference tournament and will still have the possibility to earn the No. 1 seed.

Luers-Gillispie will likely stick with her normal weekend rotation. Freshman Mackenzie Audas (19-7, 1.09 ERA) and Schmidt (11-3, 1.62 ERA) will start the three games for the Knights.

The Knights enter this weekend atop many statistical categories in C-USA, including triples (17), ERA (1.49), strikeouts (326), opposing batting average (.209) and fewest home runs allowed (20).

This weekend marks the final three home games and tickets are available online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000.
