PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (UCFAthletics.com) - It didn't take long for the No. 18 UCF track and field team to announce its presence in day one of the historic Penn Relays on Thursday.

For the second consecutive week, the fab four of Dominique Booker, Octavious Freeman, Aurieyall Scott and Sheila Paul elicited cheers and applause from the crowd in the Championship of America 4x100 relay. Fresh off Saturday's school-record-breaking performance, the group sped to the day's fastest-qualifying time of 43.84.

The Knights advance to the Friday's finals at 1:05 p.m. and will showdown against three of the country's current top-10 collegiate squads, including national leader LSU, Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Junior Sonnisha Williams earned second place in the Championship of America long jump with a respectable mark of 6.23m/20-5.25, which ranks among the NCAA's top 25 in the nation this year. She finished runner-up only to TCU's Whitney Gipson, who won last year's Penn Relays with a meet record and is the reigning NCAA indoor long jump champion.

Williams also helped the 4x400 relay clock a season-best time of 3:42.25 in the second heat. Afia Charles, Williams, Christal Peterson and Aisha-Maree Frazier advanced to the college finals Saturday at 5:35 p.m.

The Knights will resume action Friday at 10 a.m. with the triple jump, while the throws and pole vault crew will compete at the Memphis Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
