MADISON, Miss. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 20 UCF men's golf squad opened play Monday at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate in strong fashion, but teams were unable to complete the second round due to inclement weather at the Reunion Golf and Country Club.
The event was originally scheduled for 54 holes, but has been shortened to two rounds. Teams will play the final nine holes Tuesday, starting at 10 a.m.
UCF recorded a 280 (-8) in the opening round, good enough for second place. Midway through the second round, the Knights are now tied for fourth. Wichita State carded a 276 (-12) on the first 18. Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament, which is hosted by Ole Miss.
UCF senior Brad Schneider was tied for fourth after one round at 4-under 68. He was one of three Knights in the top 20 individually joining Kyle Wilshire, who was tied for seventh at 2-under 69 and Greg Eason, who was tied for 16th at 1-under 71.
