ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF junior Juan Bolona, who boasts a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, was named to the Conference USA Men's Tennis All-Academic Team Wednesday. A finance major, he was one of only six league student-athletes named to the team.
Bolona garners the honor one day before the Knights begin hosting the C-USA Championship. UCF will open play at the nine-team event Thursday at 2 p.m. against East Carolina. Admission is free at the UCF Tennis Complex.
In his first season at UCF after transferring from Clemson, Bolona has won 15 singles matches this season, including seven this spring. He holds a 13-4 doubles record at the No. 2 and 3 positions and has posted wins over opponents from four nationally ranked teams.
Bolona is the lone member of the C-USA Men's Tennis All-Academic Team with a perfect GPA.
