ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following a sweep over Stetson and Jacksonville, the UCF rowing team returned to action on Saturday racing five events against Rhode Island, Boston University and Alabama.
The varsity eight kicked off the event with a third place finish with a time of 7:04.9. Boston University claimed the win with a 6:56.2 finish.
Later that day, the second varsity four boat led by coxswain Heather Hart, Allison Glitsch, Eden Veldkamp, Noelle Crosby and Cristina Sotomayor claimed UCF's lone victory Saturday with a time of 7:59.5 to Rhode Island's 8:17.2 and Alabama's 8:25.2.
Sunday morning was more of the same with the UCF second varsity four team remaining unbeaten in the regatta, dominating their match against Rhode Island with a 24-second victory.
The varsity four squad consisting of coxswain Leah Kram, Anita Schmidt, Kali Mills, Shelby Flynn and Angelie Denizard claimed second place finishes, falling less than five seconds short to Boston University on both days.
The Knights have a week off before traveling to Bloomington, Indiana April 27-28 for the Dale England Cup.
