ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF freshman pitcher Mackenzie Audas was selected as the Conference USA Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, the league office announced. Audas went 2-0 with one save while recording a 0.48 ERA in three appearances against UTEP last week.

The Knights' ace earned the first save of her career when she pitched 2.2 hitless innings of relief in game one of UCF's three-game sweep over UTEP. Later that day, Audas started game two and earned the victory as she pitched six innings and allowed just three hits and one earned run while striking out 12. The 12 strikeouts were the most on the road by any Knights' pitcher this season.

Audas followed up that performance the next day with another stellar outing as she picked up her fifth conference shutout of the season and clinched the series sweep for the Knights. The young hurler pitched six innings and allowed three hits while striking out seven as the Knights won by 9-0 in six innings.

The conference honor is the second-career award for Audas, who has been arguably the most dominant pitcher in C-USA this season. Audas currently has a 15-5 record and leads the conference with a 1.12 ERA. She has only allowed 89 hits in 144 innings and has recorded 169 strikeouts while holding opponents hitters to a conference-low .175 batting average.

This is the third C-USA Softball Pitcher of the Week award for the Knights this season. Senior Ali Schmidt won the award on Feb. 27 and Audas took home her first award on March 19.

Audas and the Knights will return to action Wednesday when UCF hosts No. 4 Florida at 6:30 p.m. at the UCF Softball Complex.
