Women's Golf Set to Co-Host Knights and Pirates Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After an extended period of time off, the No. 41 UCF women's golf team heads to Melbourne to participate in the Knights and Pirates Invitational beginning Monday. The two-day tournament, hosted by UCF and East Carolina, will be played at Suntree Country Club on the Classic Course.

One of 15 teams competing, the Knights hope to bring home their second win of the season on the par-72 course totaling 6145 yards. Monday's action begins at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and continuous play through 36 holes. Tuesday will also see a shotgun start for the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.

This will be the second invitational that the Knights have hosted in 2012. Other Florida schools participating in the tournament include South Florida and FIU while Michigan, Purdue and Wisconsin will make the trek to Melbourne from the Big 10.

Teeing up for UCF on Monday and Tuesday at No. 1 is Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany), No. 2 Monifa Sealy (Glencoe, Trinidad and Tobago), No. 3 Heather Proctor (Ocala, Fla.), No. 4 Katie Mitchell (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) and No. 5 Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.).

Robyn Doig (Seaforth, Ontario), Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) and Jordyn Hage (Winter Park, Fla.) will compete as individuals for the Knights.
