ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF football and Conference USA announced Thursday that the Knights' home game against East Carolina Oct. 6 has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 4, to accommodate the league's television schedule. It will be the second Thursday game for UCF, as it opens the 2012 season at Akron Aug. 30.
Game times and a full TV schedule will be released as soon as they are finalized.
The meeting with the Pirates will be UCF's first C-USA game of 2012, the Black and Gold's final year in the league before transitioning to the BIG EAST in 2013. Meanwhile, ECU already will have played Southern Miss and UTEP in C-USA action before it travels to Orlando Oct. 4.
In East Carolina's last visit to Bright House Networks Stadium on Oct. 30, 2010, UCF won 49-35.
The last time UCF hosted a Thursday game was Nov. 3, 2011, against Tulsa.
