ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On the heels of a 4-0 week that included a road sweep of Houston, the UCF baseball team climbed once again in all four major rankings Monday. The Knights (23-6, 5-1 C-USA) topped Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Tuesday before finishing off their perfect week in Houston.
UCF cracked the top 15 in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 coaches' poll at No. 14 and moved up two places to No. 15 in the Baseball America rankings. The Knights have appeared in each Baseball America poll since its No. 21 preseason ranking, and join Rice (No. 9) as the only two teams in Conference USA to appear in both rankings.
Monday also saw the Knights climb to No. 14 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll, and ascend four spots to No. 17 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper standings.
The highest ranking in program history for UCF came in 2001 at No. 7 in the Baseball America polls.
UCF is 4-0 on its longest road trip of the season that will culminate Wednesday at No. 9 Miami at 6 p.m. The Knights are looking to avenge a 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes earlier this season. Action from Alex Rodriguez Park can be heard on 740-AM.
