ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A day after earning all-league first-team honors, junior forward Keith Clanton of the UCF men's basketball team was selected to the Conference USA All-Defensive Team Tuesday. During conference play, the Orlando native led C-USA in blocked shots, averaging 2.0 per game.

Clanton is only the second UCF player to receive C-USA All-Defensive Team honors since the program joined the conference in 2005. Dave Noel was recognized in 2007-08.

Clanton has 56 blocks on the year, good for fifth on the UCF single-season swats register. On Jan. 21 at UAB, the former Orlando Christian Prep star became UCF's all-time leader in blocks. In three years with the Knights, Clanton has registered 161 blocks.

In 2011-12, Clanton has recorded at least three blocks in a game on eight occasions. He also is third on the team with 34 steals. Clanton ranks seventh in C-USA in defensive rebounds per contest at 5.3.

On Monday, he was named to the All-C-USA First Team. Clanton and UAB's Cameron Moore were the only players to earn both All-C-USA First Team and all-defensive team honors.

The Knights completed the regular season 21-9 overall and 10-6 in the conference. UCF tied for third in the C-USA standings, earning one of four first-round byes at the C-USA Championship. The No. 4 seeded Knights will open the event in Memphis, Tenn., Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern with a quarterfinal matchup against either No. 5 UAB or No. 12 Tulane.
