ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a lightning delay postponed action for 45 minutes, UCF softball's contest Saturday against Jacksonville was officially cancelled due to unplayable field conditions. The game will not be rescheduled.
The Knights held a 4-0 lead over the Dolphins with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning when the game was called.
Freshman Hayley Barrow hit her first-career home run in the third inning to give the Knights a 4-0 lead, and freshman Mackenzie Audas was working on her fifth shutout of the season. The statistics recorded in this game will not count, however, because the game was not completed.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday as they return to Jacksonville to play North Florida at 6 p.m.
Upcoming home games include an April 11 contest against in-state rival Florida. Season tickets are $25 and are available online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) 823-1000.
