Final Results ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Play concluded Tuesday at the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational and the No. 18 UCF men's golf squad placed second at the 15-team event at the Rio Pinar Country Club. The Knights concluded the three-round, two-day tournament at 16-under 848.
Wichita State took team title at 844 (-20). The Knights finished two shots ahead of third-place Florida Gulf Coast (850, -14). UCF carded a 6-under 282 as a team Tuesday.
Four Knights recorded top-20 individual finishes, led by Ricardo Gouveia, who placed third at 7-under 209. He carded a 69 (-2) on the final 18. Jose Joia (212, -4) tied for eighth, Greg Eason (213, -3) tied for 10th and Brad Schneider (214, -2) tied for 14th.
The Knights entered the final round tied for second, three shots behind Florida Gulf Coast. On Tuesday, Wichita State posted a 278 (-10).
Jack Hernandez of Florida Gulf Coast claimed medalist honors at 9-under 207. He registered a 67 (-5) Tuesday.
Competing as an individual, UCF's Kyle Wilshire tied for 20th at 217 (+1).
UCF will return to action April 2 when play begins at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate in Madison, Miss.
