PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Three Knights finished in the top-15 individually Tuesday as the No. 17 UCF men's golf team placed second Tuesday at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club. UCF concluded the three-day, three-round tournament at 876 (+12), four shots behind No. 8 Arkansas.

The event included nine of the top-50 ranked squads in the country. The Knights entered the final round in first, three shots ahead of second-place North Texas.

On the final 18, UCF recorded a 288 (E), while Arkansas posted a 7-under 281.

UCF senior Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) tied for eighth at 216 (E). He carded a 72 (E) Tuesday. He was joined in the top 15 by sophomores Ricardo Gouveia (Almancil, Portugal) and Jose Joia (Lagoa, Portugal). Gouveia registered his top round of the tournament Tuesday (2-under 70) and concluded play at 218 (+2) to tie for 12th. Joia tied for 15th at 220 (+4).

TCU's Julien Brun claimed medalist honors at 5-under 211. The Knights finished a stroke ahead of No. 13 and tournament host North Florida as the Ospreys finished third.

UCF will return to the course Sunday when play begins at the USF Invitational in Lake City.
