BOCA RATON, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Playing in front of a large contingent of Knights supporters at Patch Reef Park, the UCF men's tennis team recorded a 4-3 win at Florida Atlantic Sunday. Mario Samson clinched the win for the Knights with a victory at No. 4.

UCF improved to 3-5 with the victory. The Owls moved to 6-3 on the year.

Samson rallied to defeat Boris Bogomolov, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. The Knights began the match by taking the doubles point, then won at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots.

"I thought we could have competed much better today, but it was nice for Mario to clinch one for us. We have a long homestand ahead so if we can get on track we will be in good shape," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said.

At No. 5, Joe Delinks handled Garrett Betsarakis (6-3, 6-2). Facing Sean Bacha at the No. 6 spot, Juan Bolona was a 6-0, 7-5 winner.

UCF will open an eight-match homestand Friday against Conference USA foe Memphis.
