BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (UCFAthletics.com) - Three Knights claimed four gold medals and a total of 10 all-conference distinctions were awarded to the No. 15 UCF track and field team in its second-place finish at the C-USA Indoor Championships on Sunday at the CrossPlex. UCF and East Carolina volleyed for first place all day, but the Pirates came out on top with 123 points to UCF's 113.5.

Senior Jackie Coward claimed her third-straight 60-hurdles indoor title with a NCAA-qualifying time of 8.08, which marks a season-best performance and topped her preliminaries time for the new C-USA Indoor Championship Meet record. Senior Ashley Bollingshaved time off her personal best in the event with a fourth-place finish of 8.41 to narrowly miss the podium by .02. For her efforts, Coward was awarded with the honor of Performance of the Meet.

To no surprise, freshman Octavious Freemanclinched the 60-meter and 200-meter gold medals with times of 7.25 and 23.54, respectively. Freeman was named the Freshman of the Meet and the High Point Scorer of the Meet.

Sophomore Dominique Booker, who won the 200-meter indoor crown last season, earned all-conference distinction with a second-place finish in the 60 meters (7.36) and a third-place finish and a season-best time of 23.82 in the 200 meters.

The 4x400 relay team - Afia Charles, Coward, Sonnisha Williams, Erica Winston- earned all-conference laurels with a second-place time of 3:43.32, which ranks as its second-best performance of the season.

Rounding out UCF's quartet in the 60 meters, junior Amanda Leland scored points with a sixth-place time of 7.50, and freshman Christal Peterson finished right behind her in seventh place with a time of 7.54. Senior Sheila Paulscored points in the 200 meters with a time of 24.03 for sixth place.

Charles ran away with her first individual indoor title, finishing .02 shy of the meet record in the 400 meter. Her first-place time of 54.17 is an indoor personal best.

UCF's middle distance duo of Ne'Ausha Loganand Winston came through with four points in the 800 meters. Logan finished in sixth place with a time of 2:12.38 and Winston recorded 2:16.06 for eighth place.

One day removed from winning gold in the long jump, Williams scored in the high jump with an eighth-place mark of 1.67m/5-05.75. Senior Tomika Storyscored points in the triple jump, just missing her personal best with a fourth-place showing of 12.43m/40-09.50.

The Knights will compete at Last Chance Meets in Blacksburg, Va., and Notre Dame, Ind., on Feb. 3.
