ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAtheltics.com) - The UCF women's tennis team opens a nine-match homestand against rival USF on Wednesday at 12 p.m. The Black and Gold is coming off of a 6-1 win over Florida Gulf Coast and looks to continue their improved play over their in-state rivals.

UCF's last match featured the Knights defeating the Eagles 6-0 in Ft. Myers on Saturday. Leading the team was senior Taylor Dubins, who didn't give up a game in her 6-0 victory over Marina Diez of FGCU. Andrea Yacaman and Alexis Rodriguez also put up impressive performances Saturday, not allowing their opponents to score more than three points in each of their wins. With the win, UCF improved to 3-5 on the season.

The Knights face a Bulls squad that is looking to turn their recent two-game slump around. The Bulls started out the season with three-straight wins, posting victories over Syracuse, No. 55 Ohio State and UC Santa Barbara. As of recently, they've dropped two straight to in-state rivals Miami and No. 1 Florida to go into the match against UCF with a record of 3-2. The Bulls are led by junior Ecaterina Vasenina, who holds a 4-1 record in singles play in 2012.

The Knights' next match is Saturday, Feb. 25 at the UCF Tennis Complex against Tennessee. Admission to the event is free and begins at 12 p.m.
