ORLANDO, Fla., (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 40 UCF women's golf team heads to Parrish, Fla., to compete in the Central District Invitational in its second competition of 2012. The two-day tournament begins on Monday with 36 holes and will be played at River Wilderness Country Club.

The Knights are one of 15 teams competing on the par-72 course totaling 7,139 yards. Four top-25 teams will be in competition with No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 6 LSU, No. 7 North Carolina and No. 21 Ohio State.

Teeing up for UCF on Monday and Tuesday at No. 1 is Katie Mitchell (Fernandina Beach, Fla.), No. 2 Monifa Sealy (Glencoe, Trinidad and Tobago), No. 3 Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany), No. 4 Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) and No. 5 Robyn Doig (Seaforth, Ontario).

Last weekend in the UCF Challenge at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, the Knights shot an 873 (+9) overall, placing in fourth, their best finish at the tournament since its inception in 2007. UCF propelled up the leaderboard on the second day after a school-record 6-under 282 moved them into fourth before heading into the final round.

Mitchell paced the squad with a 2-over 218 to finish tied for ninth overall. Fellow rookie Sealy (T17) and junior Pinegger (T20) also placed in the top 20 for the Knights.
