ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team, ranked 17th nationally, has set its lineup for its first event of the spring season, the Gator Invitational. Play at the two-day event in Gainesville starts Saturday.
Jose Joia, Ricardo Gouveia, Brad Schneider, Greg Eason and Kyle Wilshire all earned spots in the UCF lineup. The Knights had five rounds of qualifying to set the lineup.
Joia, Gouveia and Schneider all earned exemptions for finishing in the top 30 at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in October. During qualifying, Eason and Wilshire posted the top-two scores among non-exempt players.
Qualifying was held at Stoneybrook, Rio Pinar, Lake Nona and Northshore.
The Gator Invitational is the first of five regular-season tournaments for the Knights this spring.
