ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Mark your calendar Knights fans for the following dates when UCF football should be front and center on your mind prior to the start of the 2012 season, which kicks off Thursday, Aug. 30.
Tuesday, March 13: UCF will hold the first of 15 spring practice sessions at the Knights' practice fields in Orlando. UCF also will have open practices every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday leading up to the Spring Game so fans can watch the positional competition in person.
Saturday, April 14: Your best chance to see how the 2012 Knights are shaping up when UCF holds its annual Spring Game at Bright House Networks Stadium.
April 23-May 23: The annual UCF GKC Coaches Tour gets underway April 23 in East Orlando as George O'Leary, Donnie Jones, Todd Stansbury and others travel the Sunshine State and bring UCF to you. The 2012 tour will also stop in Lake Mary (April 24), Melbourne (May 1), Daytona Beach (May 2), Tampa (May 8), The Villages (May 9), downtown Orlando (May 17), Fort Lauderdale (May 22) and West Palm Beach (May 23) (UPDATED Feb. 15).
Wednesday, Aug. 1: UCF will take the field for the first time to begin preseason camp.
Thursday, Aug, 16: The very popular UCF Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon returns to the UCF Arena. The fun-filled event is also a great way to raise money for student-athlete scholarships.
Saturday, Aug. 18: The Knights will hold their annual fall Fan Fest offering fans a chance to meet the team for a free autograph session.
Thursday, Aug. 30: UCF's 2012 season finally gets underway with a road trip to Akron for a Thursday-night tussle.
