ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF football once again will be represented in this year's NFL Pro Bowl, set to take place Sunday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. Miami Dolphins Wide receiver Brandon Marshall will make his third appearance in the annual all-star game in Honolulu, Hawai'i, while San Francisco 49ers rookie fullback Bruce Miller was named an alternate in December for the NFC squad.
UCF has now had at least one player picked for the Pro Bowl for five-straight seasons, as Marshall received the honor in 2009, 2010 and 2012 and Asante Samuel was named to a Pro Bowl roster each year from 2008-11. Daunte Culpepper also has represented UCF in the prestigious game in 2001, 2004 and 2005.
Marshall once again posted a productive season as a NFL wideout, finishing the campaign with 1,214 yards on 81 receptions with six touchdowns while starting all 16 contests for the Dolphins. It was the fifth-straight year he racked up at least 1,000 receiving yards. In six NFL seasons, Marshall has 6,247 yards on 494 catches with 34 touchdowns.
A two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, Miller was selected in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He currently stands as UCF's all-time sacks leader with 35.5, and switched over to the offensive side of the ball for the 49ers where they went from a 6-10 record in 2010 to a 13-3 record, the No. 2 seed and a spot in the NFC Championship Game in 2011. Miller played in 15 games with eight starts, hauling in 11 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown for the 49ers this season.
Back in Orlando, UCF is setting its sights on Signing Day with exclusive free coverage starting Wednesday at 7 a.m. on UCFAthletics.com. And fans are invited to attend the UCF Football Signing Day Show at the UCF Arena beginning at 6 p.m., and the event as well as reception is free and open to the public.
