ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF fans should head to newsstands starting Jan. 30 as the Knights' spirit program will be featured in the latest edition of Sports Illustrated. The Black and Gold is highlighted thanks to the more than 120 outreach appearances that the team averages each year. In addition to remaining one of the most competitive IA programs in the country the UCF Cheerleaders, Mascot Knightro and Dance Team continue to give back to the Central Florida Community each year.

The Knights not only participated in the shooting of the opening segment of ESPN's College Football GameDay during 2011-12, they also have spent time with several organizations and took part in many local events. That includes:
-Give Kids the World
-United Way Kickoff Campaign
-Strike Out Breast Cancer with the Orlando Sports Foundation
-Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
-Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes
-Little River Elementary Science Fair
-Bonneville Elementary School Jump Rope for Heart
-Make a Wish Foundation
-Inglewood and Goldenrod Rec Centers
-Oviedo Babe Ruth and Azalea Park Little League
-Wake to Cure Diabetes
-Hemophilia Foundation Holiday Walk
-Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
-Purple Stride Run/Walk to Cure Pancreatic Cancer

UCF also has appeared on FOX News at The Villages as well as at the EA Sports world headquarters.
