TULSA, Okla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Last season, A.J. Rompza appeared in 31 games for UCF and recorded 34 steals. The senior point guard, who has played in eight contests in 2011-12, has nearly already topped that number.

Rompza has totaled 28 swipes this season, with 25 of the steals coming during Conference USA play. He paces the league in steals per game in C-USA play at 3.6.

The Chicago native ranks third in UCF history with 189 steals. Cory Perry is second on the list, having registered 205 steals from 1996-00. Rompza is also nearing the top 10 in the C-USA career steals list. He needs just five more swipes to enter the top 10.
