ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF junior Jorge Blasco (Alicante, Spain) picked up a win over one of the nation's top players over the weekend and on Tuesday, he was recognized as the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Blasco is in his first year competing for the Knights.

On Sunday against No. 41 Wake Forest, he rallied to defeat Danny Kreyman, the 115th-ranked player in the country, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5. The win was the second over a ranked foe for Blasco in 2012. In early January, he topped No. 113 Andrew Carter of Louisville at the UCF Spring Invitational.

The contest against Wake Forest served as UCF's dual-match debut. The Knights will return to action Saturday, hosting Jacksonville at Noon at the UCF Tennis Complex.
