ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With the spring semester getting underway Monday, UCF football announced the addition of defensive backs Jeremy Davis and Jared Henry as well as wide receiver Breshad Perriman to the roster for the upcoming spring season. The trio all signed National Letters of Intent in February 2011 before receiving a gray shirt this past fall, so they did not use up a year of eligibility or a redshirt in 2011.
A native of Cape Coral, Fla., Davis attended New York's Milford Academy in 2010 after standout prep careers at Cape Coral and Ft. Myers High Schools. At Milford, he was ranked No. 20 nationally on Rivals' Top 50 Prep School list, and was a three-star prospect from Rivals, ESPN and Scout coming out of high school.
In 2010, Davis was ranked as the No. 50 wide receiver prospect by Scout, No. 52 by ESPN and No. 75 by Rivals. He was clocked in the 100-meter dash at 10.4 seconds prior to originally signing with UCF, and 21.2 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Attending Cape Coral as a senior, he posted 71 tackles, four interceptions and 15 break-ups while also blocking three punts. Along with running for 1,047 yards and 15 touchdowns on 72 carries that year, he had 30 receptions for 500 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior at Ft. Myers.
Henry ventures to UCF out of Jacksonville where he was named to the all-conference, all-city, Super 24 and Super 11 teams as a senior at First Coast. He earned 60 tackles and three forced fumbles in 2010 en route to being selected to the Florida Times-Union All-First Coast First Team. Henry competed for Andrew Jackson High School as a junior where he amassed 100 tackles.
Henry was rated with three starts from Rivals, ESPN and Scout, and ESPN also ranked him as the No. 39 safety in the country.
A 6-foot-2 receiver out of Lithonia, Ga., Perriman competed for Arabia Mountain and had 13 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns in just four games as a senior. He participated in the 2010 DeKalb County Coaches Association Senior All-Star Football Game, and was the MVP of the Elite One Performance Football Camp. Timed with a 4.4 40-yard dash and recording a 36-inch vertical leap, Perriman also played high school ball for Lithonia's Martin Luther King and Conyers' Heritage High Schools.
Perriman is the son of former NFL wide receiver Brett Perriman, and routinely spent time competing in USA Track and Field and Junior Olympic events across the country growing up.
