Sykes Earns Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After receiving MVP honors at the UCF Holiday Classic, Isaiah Sykes has been recognized as the Bright House Networks Student-Athlete of the Week. He averaged 17.0 points in leading the Knights to a pair of victories at the event.

Sykes shot 65.0 percent from the floor as the Knights defeated Stetson and Rhode Island. The sophomore guard also averaged 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals. Against Stetson, he shot 9-of-14 overall and totaled 20 points to go with nine rebounds, four steals and three assists. In the championship game victory over Rhode Island, Sykes scored 14 points and had five rebounds.

UCF will return to action at home Wednesday when the Knights open Conference USA play against Tulane.
