ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team was well represented Friday when the NSCAA All-South Region Team was announced as four Knights were honored. Seniors Warren Creavalle (Acworth, Ga.) and Kevan George (Roxborough, Trinidad), junior Andrew Quintana (Miami, Fla.) and sophomore McKauly Tulloch (Kingston, Jamaica) earned all-south region second team recognition.
The quartet led the Knights to a sensational season in 2011 as UCF spent nearly the entire year in the national rankings, moving to as high as No. 6, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship for the second-straight year. Head coach Bryan Cunningham's squad finished the year 12-6-3 overall.
Creavalle played in 17 games in the midfield and made 16 starts. He recorded one goal and three assists for five points and totaled 27 shots on the year. Along with George and Quintana, he garnered All-Conference USA First Team honors.
A fellow midfielder, George started all 21 games during the year. He scored two goals and added seven assists for 11 points. He ranked fourth in the conference in assists. Both of his goals were game-winning tallies, including the game-winning goal against Florida Gulf Coast in the first round of the NCAA Championship.
Quintana started all 21 contests on the back line and played a team-high 1,983 minutes. The Miami native helped UCF limit its opponents to 23 goals in 21 contests.
Tulloch was named to the All-C-USA Third Team. The forward played in 17 games, making 15 starts. He recorded 15 goals and four assists for 34 points. His 15 goals ranked second in C-USA and also ninth on the UCF single-season register. Six of his scores were game-winning goals. Tulloch, who was in his first year with the Knights after transferring from Akron, attempted 63 shots, with 35 coming on goal.
