ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF fans flooded Facebook with their votes last week and ultimately enabled junior Latavius Murray to move to the finals for the Marines Running Back Performance of the Year presented by Intersport. Murray torched UTEP Nov. 25 for 233 rushing yards along with three total touchdowns in the Knights' 31-14 victory.

All-Star Performances of the Year is a four-month competition that lets fans determine which individual performances reign supreme during the 2011 college football season. Each top weekly vote-getter proceeds to the Finals, which run Jan. 16-22, and the winners will be revealed during the All-Star Football Challenge special airing at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 on ESPN2.

Only the 11th 200-yard game in UCF history, Murray's 233 rushing yards were the fourth-most by a Knight since the program's inception in 1979. The Nedrow, N.Y., native accomplished the feat on just 21 carries for an 11.1 average, which ranks second on UCF's single-game list. Murray holds that record when he posted a 13.1 average vs. Tulane in 2010.

With a pair of rushing touchdowns vs. the Miners, Murray climbed to fifth on UCF's all-time chart with 22-career touchdowns on the ground.

Murray also helped in the aerial attack, adding two receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown.

For the season, Murray rushed for 549 yards on 98 attempts while racking up eight rushing touchdowns. He also accumulated 17 receptions for 242 yards and a team-high 860 all-purpose yards.
