ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Isaiah Sykes has been named the Bright House Networks Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the UCF men's basketball team past Bethune-Cookman. The sophomore guard totaled a game-high 15 points in the win, and hit the game-winning free throws with four seconds to play.
Sykes made 4-of-7 shots from the field against the Wildcats, but did most of his damage at the free-throw line. The Detroit native made 7-of-9 foul shots, including two when the game was tied at 51 in the final seconds.
Sykes logged 36 minutes Saturday and added four rebounds and two assists.
UCF will return to action Tuesday, hosting North Carolina A&T at 7 p.m. at the UCF Arena. The Knights will then close out their four-game homestand Saturday at 5 p.m. versus Old Dominion.
