ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF junior Tishia Jewell (Satellite Beach, Fla.) received one of the highest honors in college soccer Friday as she was named to the 2011 NSCAA/Continental Tire Division I All-America Third Team. Jewell helped the Knights to an incredible campaign this past season as UCF advanced to the NCAA Championship Elite Eight.

Jewell led UCF with 24 points on the year. The forward scored seven goals and dished out 10 assists, good for 24th nationally. She recorded 90 shots on the year, with 40 coming on goal, and netted a pair of game-winning goals.

Jewell was one of 49 players nationally to garner All-America honors. She is UCF's 17th NSCAA All-America selection since the program's first season in 1981. Jewell is the third Knight to receive All-America recognition under head coach Amanda Cromwell.

During the NCAA Championship, Jewell excelled for the Knights. She had a goal and an assist in the first-round win over FIU and followed that performance with an assist in UCF's second-round triumph at Florida. When the Knights got past North Carolina to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time, Jewell made one of UCF's five penalty kicks during the shootout.

"Tishia was great for us all year with her goal scoring and assists," Cromwell said. "It is nice for her to be rewarded with this honor. The team effort really helped her get to this point. We are all very proud of her."

The All-America honor is the latest of many awards that Jewell has received this year. She garnered NSCAA All-Central Region First Team honors earlier this week and was selected to the All-Conference USA First Team.

Jewell earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from UCF in two years with a 3.72 cumulative grade-point-average and is currently pursuing her master's degree in non-profit management. In November, she earned CoSIDA Academic All-District IV First Team honors, as well as a spot on the C-USA All-Academic Team.
