ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Michael Visacki, one of the top junior golfers in the country, signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday with the UCF men's golf program, Knights' head coach Bryce Wallor announced. Visacki, who attends Riverview High School in Sarasota, Fla., will join the Knights prior to the 2012-13 campaign.

Visacki is listed as the 42nd-best high school senior in the country by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. He is ranked as the 78th overall junior golfer in the nation, and is listed at No. 11 among all Florida junior golfers.

During the past calendar year, Visacki excelled on the junior tournament circuit, where he recorded 11 top-five finishes. He posted 20 rounds of 72 or better. In October, Visacki tied for fifth at the Florida Class 2A State Finals.

"We are excited to have Michael join our family," Wallor said. "Michael is a big, strong golfer. I think he has great golf-course preparation. We are excited to have his family join us, and have him along with his mother and father be a part of our program. They are very supportive of him as a student and an athlete, and that is the environment that we are trying to build here."

Visacki claimed the Sarasota Junior City Championship in October. Over the summer, he finished second at the Reunion Resort Junior Classic on the Premier Junior Tour and also placed second at the Sam Parks Junior Invitational. In the past year Visacki also had runner-up finishes in three Florida Junior Tour events.

When he joins the Knights next fall, Visacki will be part of a program that has enjoyed incredible success under Wallor, who was named UCF's head coach in 2009. The Knights have claimed the last two Conference USA Championship titles, and participated in the NCAA Regionals in 2010 and 2011. This season, UCF has won two tournament championships and finished the fall ranked 17 nationally.
