UCFAthletics.com (Orlando, Fla.) - The No.22 UCF men's soccer team has been nationally ranked the entire season. With six Knights already earning Conference USA awards for their success on the field, the latest student-athlete to earn a C-USA award is for his work in the classroom.

Forward A.J. Nelson was selected to the C-USA All-Academic team, which was announced today in Irving, Texas. Last week, Nelson was honored by earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Men's Soccer Team, where he was one of 11 players in the region to be selected.

Nelson's hard work on the field is equal to that of his studies in the classroom. The junior, majoring in finance, has been able to maintain a 3.63 GPA while playing in all 17 regular-season matches for the Knights this season. Nelson has started 15 games this season and tallied five points off of two goals and one assist. He is fourth on team in both minutes played (1313) and shots taken (22) and is ranked third on the team in shots on goal (7).

Nelson and the No.3 seed Knights begin their quest for a C-USA championship as they take on No. 6 seed Memphis in the quarter finals tonight at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, in Tulsa, Okla.
