ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Tuesday, six members of the UCF men's soccer team were awarded for their play this season as they earned honors from Conference USA. Three Knights - seniors Warren Creavalle (Acworth, Ga.) and Kevan George (Roxborough, Trinidad) and junior Andrew Quintana (Miami, Fla.) - were named to the All-C-USA First Team.
Junior Nik Robson (Bucklands Beach, New Zealand) and sophomore McKauly Tulloch (Kingston, Jamaica) were selected to the all-conference third team and Leonardo Ayala (Houston, Texas) earned a spot on the all-freshman squad.
The players have helped the Knights post one of the finest campaigns in program history. UCF has spent the entire season ranked in the top-25 nationally, moving to as high as No. 6. Head coach Bryan Cunningham's team is 10-4-3 overall and enters the C-USA Championship, which opens Wednesday in Tulsa, Okla., with a quarterfinal contest versus Memphis, as the No. 3 seed.
Creavalle has appeared in 14 games, and has recorded one goal and three assists for five points. The All-C-USA First Team honor is the second-straight for the midfielder. Fellow midfielder George picked up his third-consecutive all-conference first team honor. He has started all 17 games this year and ranks sixth in C-USA in assists with six. George scored the game-winning goal in UCF's regular-season finale victory over visiting Marshall Saturday.
Quintana anchors UCF's backline and had started all 17 contests. He is second on the team in minutes with 1,551. Quintana has helped UCF limit opponents to only 1.00 goals allowed per game, which ranks first in C-USA. The Knights posted five shutouts during the regular season. The all-league honor is the first for Quintana.
Robson has totaled nine goals and five assists in 2011 for 23 points. The midfielder has started 14 of 17 contests. Five of his goals came in C-USA play, which was good for fourth in the league. On the season, he has three game-winning scores. The All-C-USA honor is the third of Robson's career.
Tulloch, who is in his first year at UCF, is second in C-USA with 12 goals and also has three assists for 27 points. The forward has appeared in 13 matches and ranks second in the league and eighth nationally in goals per game at 2.08. Tulloch has registered 26 shots on goal and has totaled five game-winning tallies.
Ayala has started 16 of 11 games played on the back line. He has logged 975 minutes and recorded one assist during the regular season.
