ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team will play its third game in less than a week to start the season Friday when the Knights host High Point. Tipoff at the UCF Arena is set for 7 p.m., and the contest will follow a UCF's women's game.

The Knights will be playing their third game in six days. The squad opened the campaign last Saturday with a win over Saint Thomas at home before falling at No. 24 Florida State Monday evening. UCF was meeting the Seminoles for the first time since 1988 and fell 73-50. The Knights were led by sophomore Tristan Spurlock (Woodbridge, Va.), who recorded 12 points and six boards against the Seminoles. Junior Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) leads the Knights in scoring at 14.5 points per game, followed by Spurlock (12.0).

UCF and High Point will be meeting for the first time. High Point (1-1) nearly pulled off a huge upset Monday, but the Panthers fell 67-65 at Purdue. Nick Barbour led High Point with 17 points, and Shay Shine scored 14 points, including a 3-pointer that got the Panthers within two points at the end of the game.

Prior to the game, the UCF women's squad will face Florida A&M Friday at 5 p.m.

Season tickets, which start at only $96, are still available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com. On gameday, tickets for the contest against the Panthers will be available at the UCF Arena box office. All UCF students are admitted free with a valid school ID.

The first 500 students inside the arena prior to the women's game will receive a free, limited edition Knightmare t-shirt. Vouchers for the t-shirts will be distributed behind the student section.

The game will air on the UCF IMG Sports Network and its flagship station, 740 The Game in Orlando. Scott Adams will have the call from the arena. Live video will be available as part of the All-Access package on UCFAthletics.com.

Series History
? UCF and High Point will be meeting for the first time
? Donnie Jones is 1-0 as a head coach against High Point
? During the 2009-10 season, his Marshall team hosted the Panthers and rolled to a 109-76 victory at the Cam Henderson Center
? High Point competes in the Big South, and UCF is 40-16 all-time against current Big South programs
? Current league members include Campbell and Gardner-Webb, who the Knights competed against in the Atlantic Sun
? UCF could face two Big South programs this season as the Knights might meet UNC-Asheville later this month at the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas
? The Knights open the event on Thanksgiving Day against College of Charleston, and will face defending national champion UConn or UNC-Asheville the following day

Last Time Out
? Facing Florida State for the first time since 1988, the Knights were unable to pull the upset Monday as the No. 24 Seminoles recorded a 73-50 victory in Tallahassee
? The hosts led 29-21 at the break and pulled away early in the second half thanks to a 15-5 run
? Florida State limited the Knights to only 30.5 percent shooting overall and a 20.0 percent (6-of-30) performance from 3-point range
? The Seminoles had a considerable size advantage, and finished with a 46-31 edge on the glass and scored 38 points in the paint
? Tristan Spurlock led the Knights with 12 points
? UCF was facing a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time since knocking off No. 16 Florida last December

Gametime
? The game against High Point will conclude a busy start to the season for the Knights

Home Happiness
? UCF has not lost a non-conference game at home under Donnie Jones

Block it Out
? A year ago, UCF established a school record with 190 blocks
? Despite losing imposing shot blocker Tom Herzog, who registered 59 swats in 2010-11, the Knights are continuing to block shots at an impressive rate

? UCF set a school single-game record with 14 blocks in the season opener against Saint Thomas, and followed that performance with five blocks at No. 24 Florida State Monday

Spur of the Moment
? Tristan Spurlock led the Knights with 12 points at No. 24 Florida State, and is averaging 12.0 points, good for second on the team, through two games

? He played in 13 games as a freshman at Virginia, and he averaged 2.4 points in 4.6 minutes per contest

? The guard is averaging 6.0 boards per contest
? Seven of his 12 rebounds have come on the offensive end
? At No. 24 Florida State Monday, Sykes was especially active on the glass on the offensive end, as he recorded five offensive rebounds
