ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team recently spent some time giving back to children of the community when they visited the Orlando Day Nursery. The team went to the nursery on Nov. 2-3, for two hours each morning. The team participated in various activities with the children including, reading, practicing counting and ABCs, and playing games.
Many of the children who attend the Orlando Day Nursery come from families that live at or below the poverty line. The nursery is the oldest of its kind in Orlando, and cares for children between the ages of 1-12 at its downtown location.
Saturday, Nov. 12 is the 90th birthday of the Orlando Day Nursery. The nursery's mission is to develop the whole child by providing high quality, affordable care and early childhood education services in the Orlando area.
