SAN ANTONIO, Texas. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team wrapped up its fall slate with a ninth-place finish at the Alamo Invitational on Briggs Rank Golf Course Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Monifa Sealy (Glencoe, Trinidad and Tobago) paced the Knights throughout the tournament and finished the 54-hole event tied for second overall (-2 214).

Host UT San Antonio claimed the overall team title after shooting a +2 866.

Over the course of the four tournaments that the Black and Gold participated in this fall, head coach Courtney Trimble's squad compiled four top-10 finishes, including runner-up at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational and tournament champions at the Lady Northern Invite.

"Overall I thought Monifa played just an excellent three days of golf," Trimble said of the rookie. "She has progressed a lot over the course of our four tournaments just as the whole team has. I think we experienced a good amount of highs and lows this fall, and the main work over our break will be to ensure that those lows aren't as low so that we are steady each and every tournament in the spring."

Sealy's three-day under-par score was the first for a Knight in 2011, and was the third time that a UCF player has finished runner-up at a tournament (Kaityln Price/Bettie Lou Evans Invite, Katie Mitchell/Lady Northern Invite). The par 72 course saw Sealy record eight birdies and one eagle.

Junior Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) wrapped up the week shooting 9-over 225 to tie for 32nd overall. Sophomore Kaitlyn Price tied for 49th (+14), while freshmen Robyn Doig (+16) and Katie Mitchell (+17) rounded out the lineup for the Knights.

The Knights will enjoy a three-month break from competition until Feb. 12-14 when they host the UCF Challenge at Red Tail Golf Club.
