ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFathletics.com) - The road to another championship starts on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the UCF Arena when the women's basketball team faces Lynn in a free exhibition game.
The Knights are in pursuit of a second-consecutive Conference USA Championship and their third in four years under head coach Joi Williams. UCF is coming off its first 20-plus win season in 27 years and returns Preseason All-Conference selection senior guard Aisha Patrick.
"We have been working hard in practice, and I know that our team is looking forward to this exhibition game," Head Coach Joi Williams said. "We still have quite a bit of work to do, but I think this will be a good measure to see what adjustments we need to make before the season opener at South Alabama."
Sunday will be the first meeting between the two schools in program history. Lynn is coached by Niki Washington and returns three starters from last year's 12-15 campaign. The Fighting Knights have an exhibition game at Bethune-Cookman on Friday night.
Dr. Shari Hodgson, of UCF's Nicholson School of Communications, will serve as an honorary Knights coach at the game.
Representatives from the UCF ticket sales office will be on hand in the arena lobby to help with any season ticket purchases. Season tickets start at $45 and two fan pack options are available for purchase, as well. Tickets are always available for purchase by calling (407) UCF-1000.
